SINGING hopefuls looking to follow in the footsteps of Rak-Su, Grace Davies, Louisa Johnson, One Direction or Little Mix are being given the chance to audition for The X Factor.

Open auditions for the reality television music competition will be held next Thursday (March 22) at St George's hotel in Llandudno at the Menai Suite.

The auditions, running from 3pm until 8.30pm, are open to any aspiring singers across Gwynedd, Conwy and Denbighshire.

Anyone unable to attend the day, can register online and send in their video audition through the website or Whatsapp.

Toyah Dann, talent scout at Thames TV, said: "Anyone can come along [next Thursday] during those hours to meet with us and sing to us to be in with the chance of appearing in front of our judges on the show.

"We understand that people can go to Manchester and Liverpool auditions, but I thought it would be best for us to make sure we left no stone unturned and set up an open audition day in North Wales.

"We had a really successful year last year on the show, with many of the songs and artists reaching high levels in the iTunes chart. We had some performers showcasing their original songs too which went down very well with the judges, the producers and most of all the public, which is really exciting. We are always looking for variety, groups, performers, something unique or classic, with or without instruments, we want to see it all."

This will be the 15th series of The X Factor.

The open auditions are part of a nationwide audition tour. Groups or solo singers aged 14 plus can apply online or register for an upcoming event or turn up on the day.

If an act impresses the X Factor audition team with their vocals, they will then be in with a chance of auditioning in front of the X Factor judges when the judges' auditions take place later in the year.
