A SUPERMARKET is in the hunt for a charity to help.
The search is on for Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme, back for its 10th year, and the Rhyl store is calling for charities to apply to be its next charity partner and receive a year’s worth of support.
Sainsbury’s Rhyl manager Paul Linekar said: “There are so many fantastic charities in the local area which do brilliant work in our community.
“We’ve had a great year working in partnerships with Alzheimer’s Research UK and we’re excited to be offering a new charity the chance to receive support from our customers and colleagues.”
At the end of May, the store will shortlist three charities, with customers able to vote for their chosen charity between Monday, June 11 and Thursday 24 in the store and online.
The winning charity will then receive assistance with fundraising and in raising awareness.
Last year, Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme raised over £1.2 million, providing support to charities across the UK.
The scheme is open to any UK registered charity, and can be nominated by anyone who works for a charity by collecting a form from the store. Nominations close on Friday, May 29. For more information about Sainsbury’s Local Charity of the Year scheme, go online at sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk.
