THE COMMUNITY came out in force to support a Rhuddlan's best dressed window display contest.

There were two categories - one for private residence and one for business. Glan Llyn Abbey Road was crowned the winner in the residence section and received a cheque for £50 from mayor of Rhuddlan, cllr Andy Smith.

In the business category, Rosie’s Wool Shop claimed first place, Mode Hair and Beauty Specialist came second and The Sweetest Shop in the village took third.

Cllr Smith said: "We had an amazing day. Due to the high level of participants, it was decided to also hand out second and third prizes.

"The event is growing every year and I’ve no doubt it will be more popular next year."

Rosie's were presented with a bouquet of flowers and a plaque and second and third place received a bottle of champagne.

Alison McMillan, owner of Rosie's, said: "I was pleased to win and have enjoyed taking part for the past two years.

"The display shows off some of the seasonal yarn available as well as items which I have been knitting and crocheting since September to inspire crafters to make things."
