PRESTATYN carnival's royal family will be chosen at a selection later this month.

Prestatyn Carnival Association will choose their 2018/2019 carnival queen and royal family at the Kings Hall Community Centre on Sunday, March 25.

Doors will open at 2pm, with competitions starting at 2.30pm. Positions are available for both boys and girls aged between five years to 15 years, with the carnival queen age group between 10 years and 15 years.

All contestants must reside in Prestatyn or Meliden or attend school within the Prestatyn Town Boundary.

Joy Williams, of the association, said: "A parent or guardian must accompany them to the selection afternoon. A parent will need to be available to attend a short monthly meeting, to act as their child’s representative for their year in office and assist with our fundraising activities.

"The competitions will take place in ‘everyday’ clothing and dress will not be a deciding factor in the eventual outcome.

"Parents can be assured that if their child is chosen, Prestatyn Carnival Association will extend their support to ensure that the year ahead will be full of happy memories for those selected."

A contribution towards the cost of carnival robes will be made by Prestatyn Carnival Association.

To get involved, telephone Joy on 07878326874 or come along to the selection afternoon.
