THE public have been canvassed for their suggestions on how a town centre can be improved.
Denbighshire County Council wants to draw up a town-centre masterplan for Rhyl, to complement the works completed on the promenade and on-going projects.
As part of the process, residents and visitors were asked to submit their views via a questionnaire at the White Rose Centre over the Easter long weekend.
A spokesman for the council said: “Residents and visitors to Rhyl will be able to help shape a brand new town centre masterplan being created.
“The regeneration of Rhyl has been a key priority for the council, with the prestigious waterfront development now taking shape, in addition to the regeneration of the town’s harbour and the creation of brand new housing and green space in west Rhyl.
“The intention is to have a vibrant and balanced mix of uses for the town centre, improved pedestrian flows between the promenade and the town centre and to create a desirable environment.”
Denbighshire County Council leader Hugh Evans said: “We want to ensure that the masterplan is led by the people who live in, work in, visit or choose to invest in Rhyl.
“This will make sure that people not only get to have a say, but have a chance to really influence the Rhyl they’d like to see in the future.”
