A YOUNG girl has had her long locks cut in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

After having the chop, Eight-year-old Evie Garrett was not only able to hand over her hair to the trust – which provides real-hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK and Ireland, who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses – but also pass on over £300 she has raised through sponsorship.

Her mum, Jo Garrett, said: “Evie wanted to do this to help other children.

“She loves her long hair but she decided to cut it to help these children.

“She had seven inches cut off and she’s quite happy – she loves it now.

“She felt somebody else could make use of her hair.

“She will be growing it back however and might look to doing this again.”

Evie, a pupil at Ysgol Llywellyn in Rhyl, had her charity chop at Morgan’s Hair and Beauty salon in Prestatyn.
