A GROUP of friends plunge 10,000 feet from an airplane to raise money for a local hospice.

Carina Williams, Nisha Hampshire-Jones, Samantha Muller and David Jones of Abergele took part in the adrenaline challenge in aid of St David’s Hospice and have raised a total of £2,167.25.

The event was to raise funds in memory of David’s Auntie Kim who received care and support offered by the adult hospice.

Carina Williams, David’s wife said: “I've always wanted to do a parachute jump and Nisha wanted to conquer her fear of heights.

“We decided to raise money for St David’s Hospice in memory of my husband’s Auntie Kim who sadly passed away from cancer - she loved being at St David’s Hospice.

“During her stay, she enjoyed chatting to others and was pampered with manicures and massages – she thought the Hospice was a wonderful place.

“We were all proud to be able to help a worthy charity and hope we can raise more money for the Hospice in future with some other events.”

St David’s Hospice is an independent charity that helps support more than 1,000 people across North West Wales every year.

All their services are free, and the hospice needs to raise more than £3 million a year to provide support, which means the local community play a crucial role.

The next skydiving day for St David’s Hospice is on Saturday, July 15.
