BURGLARS have targeted Rhyl’s new water park development.

An appeal has been launched for information following a break-in at SC2, which is being built on the town’s promenade on the former skate park and Drift Park site.

Expensive equipment was stolen during the incident.

Investigating officer PC Katie Davies said some time between 6.30pm on Friday, April 13 and 7am on Monday, April 16 a site building within the compound of the new aquatic centre development on Rhyl promenade was broken into and a number of very expensive electronic measuring devices stolen.

She added: “Property stolen included a Lecia EMD (electronic measuring device) total station.

“The device was in a red strong plastic case with LECIA written in the middle.

“Two piper lasers in a yellow strong plastic case and two rotating laser with four rod-eye receivers.”

The new £15-million attraction is set to open in 2019.
