A young man from Rhyl charged with murder, and three counts of attempted murder, following alleged stabbing attacks, will go on trial next month.

Redvers James Bickley, 21, pleaded not guilty last October but the court was told that he accepted causing the injuries.

He appeared at a mention hearing at Mold Crown Court this morning via a live television link from prison.

Mr Justice Clive Lewis confirmed that his trial would start on March 19 – two weeks later than originally planned.

The trial is estimated to take up to two weeks.

Bickley, of Llys Aderyn Du, in Rhyl, was charged following alleged stabbings on a housing estate in Rhyl on Saturday night, September 10.

The defendant denies the murder of 25-year-old Tyler Denton, and the attempted murder of her father and two sisters, Paul Denton, and Cody and Shannen Denton, who all required hospital treatment.

Arrangements for the trial were discussed by the judge with John Philpotts, prosecuting, and defence barrister Nigel Power QC.

Police were called to Llys Aderyn Du at 11.45pm following reports that four people had been stabbed.

The family were taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital by ambulance where Tyler Denton was pronounced dead.

The defendant was remanded in custody.

No bail application was made.

The custody time limits were extended to cover the trial dates.
