More than 50 people rolled up be the first to sample the wares of the Marina Quay’s latest addition.

Leading bakery chain Greggs has opened the doors of its second Rhyl outlet for the first time.

A line of 50 pasty enthusiasts were waiting for the doors to open at 7am at the new seafront shopping park.

Khosru Miah, shop manager at Greggs Marina Quay, said: "We’re all really excited here and can’t wait to welcome the people of Rhyl to our new store.”

The new store, is the first food takeaway at the £25 million Scarborough International Properties development – joining The Range, Poundworld and Farmfoods and creating 10 new jobs.

To celebrate the opening, the store will be giving away free sausage rolls and doughnuts to customer from 9am until 5pm this Saturday.

Roisin Currie, retail director for Greggs, said: “We’re delighted to be able to invest in Rhyl, bringing new jobs to the area and providing our customers with a modern and convenient new shop.”
