A COMPETITIVE assault course is coming to Rhyl.

The town's new waterpark SC2 is to feature the first Tag Active in Wales.

Tag Active is described as "Total Wipeout meets Ninja Warrior". There will be more than 40 targets for challengers to hit over eight levels.

Players will be faced with a mix of physical and mental activities.

A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: “We are very excited about bringing the first TAG Active in Wales to the SC2 waterpark development.

"TAG Active is a high energy, indoor obstacle course, a mixture between Ninja Warrior and Total Wipeout, where Players wear electronic bands that provide gamification of the arenas and competitive metrics.

“The aim is to hit a matrix of computer controlled targets across multilevel zones and compete on time and targets with friends and colleagues, or to beat your own scores. TAG Active challenges players to test their own strategy, speed, agility and bravery, whilst promoting fun, fitness and competition.

“There’s an exciting buzz surrounding this development and TAG Active is only part of SC2, which will be a 1200 metre square water space, with indoor and outdoor flume rides, children’s water play frame and slides, party rooms, reception, sales areas, outside Splash Pool – two wet splash pads, sun lounger areas and café terraces to provide wet play entertainment.”

The £15million attraction is being built on Rhyl's seafront and will open in Spring 2019.
