A 49-year-old alcoholic on Wednesday admitted that he had continued to beg at Rhyl, the day after being fined, but denied intentionally killing a seagull by stamping on it.
Kenneth Parry, on benefit, who gave an address in Rhuddlan Road, Abergele, insisted he was putting the bird “out of its misery” because it had already been injured.
A trial will be held before Llandudno magistrates next month and he was granted bail.
But further fines totalling £100 were imposed for two counts of begging and Parry has to pay £115 costs.
James Neary, prosecuting, said shopkeepers and members of the public had complained to police about his begging.
