CHILDREN pulled on their wellies and completed a Peppa Pig ‘muddy puddle walk’ for charity.

Fourteen children from Abergele Baby and Toddler Club took part to raise money for Save the Children.

The fundraiser started at Gwrych Castle and went to Manorafon Farm.

The youngsters were joined by the TV character, who is famous for her love of splashing around in muddy puddles and helped find some local ones. About £70 has been raised.

Mums Jodie Russell and Louise Williams took over the fortnightly club in January.

Jodie said: “It was so lovely seeing all of their happy little faces when Peppa Pig arrived to do the walk with them.”

Louise said: “There were even more muddy puddles afterwards as it poured down with rain, but we were all prepared in our wellies.

“We would like to thank everyone that supported us since we took over the running club.

“We have had generous donations from businesses – A Cut Above Barbers, The Beauty Rooms and McCoubrey Cooke estate agents.”

Children enjoyed a morning at the farm following the short trek.

Yesterday the club held a ‘new home’ party at their new premises – Abergele Youth and Community Centre.
