AN antiques dealer is appealing for help to trace a horse statue, which was stolen from her shop window.

The large ceramic statue has been missing for nearly a fortnight after being taken from the window of Kimberley’s Furniture, on Market Street, Abergele. Kim Blears, the business’s owner, said: “Abergele is a quiet town and this has annoyed everyone. It’s the principle.”

She said of the statue: “It’s a big thing. It’s almost two-and-a-half-foot-tall and wide. I can’t believe someone has stolen it as my back was turned.

“Fortunately, there has been a lot of support from everyone who has been in the shop and everyone is helping out to try and get it back, and spreading the word.”

The statue, reported stolen on Wednesday January 17, had a retail value of £169.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “Enquiries are still ongoing. Anyone with any information can contact the police on 101 and quote the reference W005757.”
