A CHARITY golf day has been arranged at the Stinchcombe Hill Golf Club for Sunday, July 18 with the proceeds to be used to support Yercombe Lodge, Stinchcombe.

This will be the fifth golf day held at the Hill for the benefit of Yercombe, the previous four having raised more than £8,000 which has been used to continue and improve the facilities at the Lodge.

Recent projects have included the creation of a craft workshop adapted for use by the disabled, the construction of a 'quiet room', and an irrigation system for the day centre greenhouse.

Currently the trustees are raising funds with the objective of installing an automatic door system to make access easier for wheelchair users, and to refurbish the respite bedrooms and install double glazing to the residents lounge.

The golf day will take the form of an 18 hole Stableford competition played in teams of three with two scores to count.

Handicap limit is: men 24, ladies 36. Three-quarter handicap allowance.

Organising secretary Mrs Olive French commented: "I would like to ask for the support of all the golfers to make this another success."

The event is open to members and non members and entries should be made, by July 1, to Mrs Olive French, 17 Woodview Road, Norman Hill, Dursley, Glos. GL11 5RH, tel 01453 548757, email: Olive.French@btinternet.com; or contact Paul Bushell on 01453 543878.
