INVESTIGATORS are still trying to find out what caused a wall to collapse killing a three year old girl.
Meg Burgess died 11 days ago when a 6ft wall in Ffordd Penrhwylfa, Prestatyn, collapsed as she was walking to the shops with her mother.

Her mother, Lyndsey, and baby brother, Wilson, were not hurt

The tragedy has touched the local area, with the scene of the tragedy having seen people of all ages gather to lay floral tributes.

A police spokeswoman said yesterday (Tuesday) Meg’s death was not being treated as suspicious but the investigation was still going on.

She said: “A joint investigation between North Wales Police and the Health and Safety Executive is continuing and a detailed examination of the wall is still being carried out.”

Denbighshire County Council is also involved in the investigation and confirmed the owner of the property did not have planning permission to build the breeze block wall which is believed to have been built to hold back tons of earth.

Staff at the Tiny Tots Nursery in Prestatyn, are to hold a balloon release in Meg’s memory this week and will soon start work on creating a memorial garden for her.

At the request of her parents, Meg’s eyes and hearts are being donated to allow her “greatest gifts” to be passed on.

Lyndsey and Peter said: “They are the greatest gifts anyone could ever receive because she had such vision and such a pure vision”.

Meg’s funeral has still not been arranged but details will be placed on our website, www.rhyljournal.co.uk, when they are announced.
