A RHYL PENSIONER picketed his bank after 'falling out' with the cash machine.

Ken Jones, 70, of Rhyl, has been walking up and down the pavement outside the Halifax branch in Russell Road to protest about the state of the ATM cash machine and the complaint process that followed.

Mr Jones, who is retired and has mobility issues, said: “Either the card doesn’t go into the machine, or it will go into the machine, but won’t give you a statement. If it does give you a statement then it says it won’t give you cash. The machine is often filthy dirty.

“I was told that it could be because the mechanism had frozen during the freeze, but it’s been like this for six months, since August.”

Mr Jones said: “All I‘m asking is that anyone, if the machine isn’t working, get in and complain.

“I’m standing up for my rights.”

A spokesman for Halifax said that the ATM on Russel Road was working correctly.

He said: “We would always ensure the ATM is in working order and if a fault does occur, our staff will take the appropriate steps to rectify the error as soon as possible.”
