POLICE ARE are appealing for information to trace a motorist who did not stop after knocking a teenager off his bike in Rhyl.
The “hit and run” incident happened at about 5.20pm on August 25 when a teenage boy cycling along the pavement with his two younger brothers in Oakville Avenue, Rhyl, was hit by a car that mounted the pavement.
The car was described as a blue green people carrier with red fluffy dice hanging from the driver’s rear view mirror.
A spokesman from North Wales Police said: “The 15 year old youth was knocked off his bike and sustained an eye injury which needed 26 stitches, three chipped teeth and grazes to his arm and leg.
“The driver, who is described as elderly and a young male passenger were seen to look back out of the front passenger window, so it is possible that they are aware of the incident.”
Despite this, the vehicle failed to stop and continued on its way towards Ty Newydd Road.
Police are appealing for the driver to come forward and for anyone with information to contact them on 101, if in Wales, or 08456071001 (Welsh line) 08456071002 (English line).
