RHYL sit joint top of the Huws Gray Alliance after continuing their 100 per cent start to the season with victory over Porthmadog.
Three second half goals secured the win over struggling Porth, but another virtuoso performance from Anthony Costa kept Rhyl in the match during a difficult first half.
Costa made five crucial stops during the opening exchanges, including a diving save at full stretch to deny Marcus Orlik, and was again deservedly named the man of the match.
The second period saw a change in fortunes for Greg Strong’s side, and they took the lead ten minutes after the break when a header from the player-manager could only be parried into the path of Andrew Pearson, who scored a simple tap-in.
The second goal came ten minutes from the end with Rees Darlington smashing home after a neat passing move down the left, before Declan Rudd sealed the win minutes from time having come off the bench.
The win keeps Rhyl on top of the league, joint with Gap Connahs Quay who have also won all four of their opening games.
The Lilywhites will also be travelling to mid-Wales this weekend to face Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant in the first round of the Welsh Cup, and will also be welcoming Llandudno Town to the Belle Vue for the second round of the NWCFA Challenge Cup in January.
