MIKE Cummins (VC Melyd) pulled out a personal best performance to take the 2010 Rhyl//Melyd five-mile time trial championship at Denbigh last Wednesday night.

His 10 minute 55 seconds sprint to Llandyrnog and back surprised club mate Alan Overson, who was beaten into second place by nine seconds, but still won the veteran 40-49 prize.

Gary Houlston was third in 11-36, ahead of joint-fourth Rhyl CC duo Martin Austin and Phil Price (11-57).

Richie Mills and Tim Buckley posted pbs along with another for Terry Glynn, Dave Le Maitre, Dave Tudor and Matthew Turner. Twelve-year-old Tudor took the junior prize in 15-22.
