Ysgol Aberconwy GCSE "delight"

TEACHERS at a Conwy school are “delighted” with the GCSE performance of their pupils.

David Wylde, headteacher for Ysgol Aberconwy said: “We are delighted with the success achieved at GCSE level this year. The school

has, for the third year running, broken previous records for passes at five A*s to Cs.”

This year almost three quarters of all pupils achieved five A* to C grades.

Mr Wylde said: “This is a testament to the hard work of the students and staff alongside the valued support of their parents.”

Among the highest performing students were Cameron Edwards, who took home two A* grades and nine A grades, Alex Stronach with two A* grades and nine As, Geraint Wynne with ten A grades and Emily Smith with two A*s, eight As and one B.

In addition, Robert Taylor gained one A*, eight A grades and one B, Matthew Hughes scooped eight A grades and one B, Alice Faulkner earned one A*, seven As and two B grades.

Mr Wylde said: “We look forward to welcoming record numbers back to our sixth form.”
