GCSEs: Rhyl High School

RHYL High School’s class of 2010 are led by four star students with a formidable GCSE haul.

Among this set of high achievers were two boys and two girls proving that success at GCSE can be achieved by everyone.

Lewis Wrightson led the group, gaining five A* grades, two A grades and two Bs.

James Edge, who sat 12 GCSEs, was next up with four A*s, two As, three Bs and three Cs.

Meanwhile Emily Barber, who took an amazing 16 GCSE examinations, achieved two A*s, eight As and six Bs.

Louise Lemin was another of Rhyl High School’s star performers attaining one A*, four As and seven Bs.

Claire Armitstead, Rhyl High School headteacher, said: “I am thrilled that our students, supported by their parents' and our dedicated teachers, have been rewarded with some excellent GCSE results.

“A number of individuals have done especially well, with 15 students achieving over 11 higher grade GCSEs.

Our Students' hard work and determination has paid off and I wish them every success and happiness for the future.”

The school are still analysing their exam results for their 200 GCSE entrants but early figures suggest 40 per cent of pupils achieving five A* to C and 92 per cent gaining A* - G.
