RESULTS day revealed Ysgol Glan Clwyd students’ success with a 99 per cent A level pass rate.
Many of the students benefited from the range of experiences gained while following the Welsh Baccalaureate scheme, which also had a 99 per cent pass rate.
Head teacher, Martin Davies, said: “This year’s very good results followed on from the excellent standards attained in previous years.
“The main indicators are very similar to last year, once again, above both local and national averages. It is also especially heartening to see students following and succeeding in a wide range of relevant academic and vocational courses at AS and A2 level.”
Mr Davies said that the results enhanced students' chances of obtaining the points score required for them to enter the university of their choice when faced with stiff competition.
A further 75 per cent of the grades achieved were A to C, while 48 per cent were A to B grades.
Mr Davies said: “It is pleasing to note that these young people have succeeded academically as well as making a full and valuable contribution to school life. Students and staff deserve praise for their hard work and dedicated efforts.
“We wish them well as they take the next step in their careers, and know that parents, who have given valuable support to their children and the school over the years, are rightly proud of their children’s success.”
Mr Davies also praised the progress made by year 12 students in their AS courses.
