A FAMOUS storybook cat celebrated his 10th birthday at a miniature railway in Rhyl.
Reverend Alan Cliff, the author Jack the Station Cat, a veteran of ten children’s books, celebrated the launch of Jack’s latest adventure in style at the Marine Lake Station on July 31.
Railway enthusiast Mr Cliff signed books at the fun day, which was also attended by Justin Bell who dressed up as the famous cat.
A miniature steam engine was named after Jack to mark the occasion.
Although the stories are imaginative, with the dashing cat tracking down stolen tickets, meeting aliens, arranging concerts and foiling villainous plans, the character is based on a on real life black and white shorthair.
Pet cat Jack inspired his owner when he started interfering with the siding layout on Mr Cliff’s model railway.
Jack the Station Cat and the August Day is now available and half of the author's royalties are donated to the Save the Family charity.
