JUST two more wins will ensure a pair of Vale of Clwyd golfers can enjoy a final fling.

Denbigh Golf Club’s Stan Roberts and his son James entertained the Rhuddlan Golf Club pairing of Mike Pender and Dave Roe in the sixth round of The Daily Mail Foursomes competition.

The result was a comfortable 7&5 victory for the Roberts family.

They are now only two matches away from this year’s finals’ week, which is to be played at the Marriott St Pierre Golf Club in Chepstow, Gwent.

All at Denbigh Golf Club wish to congratulate the pair on their progress in this nationwide competition.

Saturday saw the fifth gents monthly medal and foxhall putter competition of the summer season.

This event attracted 104 entries and the winner was St Asaph’s Mike E Roberts with a very good nett 62 round off his handicap of 18, which has since been reduced to 17.
