FOUR PEOPLE were rescued from a stricken speedboat by the Conwy Lifeboat Crew.

A 19ft Fletcher speedboat broke down at the Perch Lighthouse near New Brighton, stranding two teenage boys, a man and a woman.

The Conwy RNLI crew were alerted to the problem by the coastcard at 5.26 pm on June 5.

After reaching the broken vessel the crew managed to restart the engine.

But while the boat was being escorted to Deganwy Marina, they received another call for an incident between Conwy bridge and Tal-y-Cafn.

Another speedboat was said to be in trouble with its engine cover off and smoke coming from the motor.

The volunter crew proceeded up river but despite an extensive search they were unable to locate the boat.
