A 33-year-old man has died after his canoe capsized off the coast of Anglesey.

Holyhead Coastguard received a call at midday on Wednesday reporting a man in difficulty off Traeth Mawr in Anglesey.

Trearddur Bay RNLI lifeboat The Dorothy Selina was launched and a volunteer crew member located the canoeist.

He was winched into an RAF helicopter and was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

The man, who has not been named, was later pronounced dead.
