Bangor City 2, Prestatyn Town 0 (at Newtown)

PRESTATYN Town need to put the disappointment of yesterday's (Sunday) Welsh Cup semi-final exit behind them when they travel to Elements Cefn Druids this Friday for a crucial Welsh Premier League clash.

The Seasiders are still a top 10 place which will guarantee a place in the Super 12 next season.

The club has already received a major boost in that regard when it was granted a domestic licence - the key qualification to feature in the new-look league - by the FAW last week.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Town have a real six-pointer on the agenda with Neath due to visit Bastion Gardens.

Sunday's Welsh Cup semi against Bangor City at Latham Park, Newtown, was more or less over as a contest by half time.

Neville Powell's side took a 12th minute lead with a cracking left foot shot from Mark Smyth and they also hit the bar twice - through Eddie Jebb and Lee Hunt - before making it 2-0 just before half time, Craig Garside heading in from close range.

Jon Hill-Dunt also produced two cracking saves for the visitors, whose best chances fell to Ian Griffiths and Steve Rogers but neither was able to hit the target.

The second half was much more even but still Prestatyn were unable to put sufficient pressure on Paul Smith's goal, their best chance falling to Ross Hannen who blasted over from eight yards.

Town should have been reduced to 10 men when keeper Hill-Dunt handled outside his area as Hunt raced clear but the referee waved play on.
