This gig, planned for Good Friday at V2 Nightclub in Ruthin has been cancelled.

BEING a tribute band to two of the most recognisable groups in the UK is not an easy task.

But its one that four men from Stoke-on-trent take in their stride, and have been for the past 10 years.

Meet Ian Alcock, Pete Coppard, Kev Pyne and Paul Mitchel, who have travelled the world together as a tribute band.

Calling in countries including Spain and Dubai and also entertaining onboard cruise ships in the Caribbean.

Not a hard life eh!

The group play tribute to the most well known bands on the Indie scene - Oasis and the Stone Roses.

“We are all fans of the bands, and have a great time performing when were on stage,” said lead singer Ian.

“Their music goes so well together, it’s very similar.”

The group, who perform under two names - Definitely Mightbe and Adored, have been ‘good friends’ for many years.

Last year their fourth band mate emigrated to Australia, so in came new member - Paul.

“We have all been friends for a long time, we all gel really well both on and off stage,” said Ian.

“We came together as an Oasis tribute act and added the Stone Roses on about two years ago.”

Let’s hope for the sake of their audience that the band aren’t as fiery Oasis and the Stone Roses two frontmen - Liam Gallagher and Ian Brown.

As a fan of both bands, I have witnessed both men’s temper on stage a number of times!

“You do have to get into character,” said Ian.

“It’s rather like an acting role I suppose.

“The clothes, hair, stance and voice all go to make up the overall picture of the role your taking on.

“We pay particular attention to getting the sound right.

“Trying to re-create the raucous sound of the live performances while mimicking everything that happens on the record.

“The scowl of ‘Liam’ is definitely noticeable but all done in good humour,” he added.
