PROMOTION chasing Rhyl and District picked up four points from their back-to-back weekend home double to move into third place in the North West League Division Three.
Changing round 2-1 down in Saturday's clash with Bowden, rallying Rhyl were 4-3 up when Ian Bennett was sent off after scoring two of their goals and this opened the door for Bowden to grab a draw with an equaliser just two minutes from the end. Adam Judge and Andrew Pierce scored below-par Rhyl's other goals but it was much improved performance that swept Rhyl to an impressive 4-1 victory next day against Mossley Hill.
An early Mossley goal was the wake-up call for Rhyl who made it all-square by the interval through Andrew Pierce and the second half belonged entirely to the dominant hosts. Regular marksman Adam Judge extended his consistent scoring sequence followed by further goals from Chris Hardy and Pierce, with a late tap-in after a stunning 50-yards defence-splitting pass from Sam Woods left him with a sitter.
