WITH the weather playing havoc with the racing schedule again this weekend, with both the Wrexham Half-Marathon and the Trafford 10k both cancelled at the last minute, only one Abergele Harrier managed to race.
Richie Lee was part of the large field in the Great North West Half-Marathon which is held in Blackpool. Lee ran a very steady race finishing in an excellent 1.25.17.
At club night the 2009 male athlete of the year, as voted for by the members, was announced.
It went to Vernon Pownall, who had several outstanding performances during the year. The greatest was arguably the Welsh title he won at the Anglesey Marathon in September.
