VOLUNTEERS are being sought to put the final touches on a Bangor community centre.
Garth community centre has been refurbished to the tune of £16,000 and now needs a few licks of paint.
The work will be going ahead from Monday, February 22, to Sunday, February 28, from 10am-5pm every day.
Cllr Leslie Day said: “We’re desperate - if anybody can come and splash on some paint for a couple of hours it would be a great help.
“People don’t have to commit themselves for the full week or even a full day, just a few hours would be appreciated.
“It’s your community centre so come and be a part of it.”
PC Rick Wynne is also involved in the project and hopes to enrol army cadets from Bangor’s military preparation college, as well as calling in some support from the probation service and student volunteers from Bangor University.
He said: “We need people to get off the computer and get into the community centre.
“We need people to stop talking about what they want to see done and to get out and help get things done in their community.”
