THE newest store on the UK’s longest High Street has officially opened its doors.
Bangor’s Cash Converters branch is the 148th of the nationwide franchise and was opened by Cllr Jean Forsyth, the Mayor of Bangor.
She said: “It’s nice to see shops opening on the High Street instead of closing and hopefully things are now starting to come full circle.
“We’re delighted to see Cash Converters come to Bangor and do appreciate that it is investing in Bangor and creating new jobs.”
The feeling was shared by those busy browsing the shelves and one Bethesda woman said: “I come to Bangor to do shopping and it needs more stores like this to offer more choice and to bring more shoppers in.”
A Bangor shopper added: “It’s good to see new shops opening in the city and let’s hope there’s more to come!”
Franchisee Richard Addison said: “In the last week the people of Bangor have brought us a lot of items and we’ve been very busy. We buy stock to resell and the business thrives on buying stock.”
