PRESTATYN Town FC are looking towards a positive future after securing the biggest sponsorship deal in their history.
The Welsh Premier League side have announced they are to enjoy having a “significant five figure cash sum” injected into their funds during the next three seasons by Walsh Investment Properties (WIP).
The company is owned by Mike Walsh, club president and former owner of Anglia Builders, and the deal is also set to see a new building created to act as a matchday hospitality suite. Mike’s brother, Sean, is to become the club’s vice-president.
In a statement on the club’s official website, Seasiders Online, Prestatyn chairman Tony Thackeray said: “This is absolutely fantastic news for the club and we are indebted to Mike Walsh and WIP for their valuable and much appreciated support.
“It will enable us to push forward in our aims to achieve Super 12 status and takes us those few steps further down the line to establish Prestatyn Town among the leading clubs in Welsh football.
“We are all aware that these are difficult economic times and for WIP to commit to this level of support for the next three seasons is a magnificent gesture.
“On behalf of everyone connected with Prestatyn Town, be they players, officials or supporters, we say a huge thank you.”
The announcement comes at a time when Prestatyn are looking to cement their place in the new Super 12 Welsh Premier League structure next season, with work currently being carried out at Bastion Gardens on medical rooms, dressing rooms and TV gantry and police control room to ensure they meet the off-field entry criteria.
