Prestatyn Reserves hit Rhyl for six

PRESTATYN Town remain top of the Black Dragons Badges Reserve Premier League and still unbeaten after Friday night's 6-2 hammering of Rhyl at Belle Vue.

Gareth Davies hit a hat-trick for the Seasiders, Neil Gibson, Ross Hannen and Alec Williams adding singles, while Seb Walker bagged both for the Lilywhites.

Abergele Rovers extended their lead at the Mackenzie Jones Clwyd League Premier Division summit to five points with a 3-1 win at Mochdre Sports. James Davies (2) and Danny Campbell were the Gele marksmen.

John Jones and Mike Roose (2, 1 pen) ensured Rhuddlan Town were 3-0 winners at Aston Park Rangers in the second round of the Premier Cup.

In an extraordinary NWCFA Junior Cup tie, Rhyl Athletic pipped Wepre Rangers 6-5 on penalties after a 5-5 outcome following extra time.

Richard Pegg, John Evans, Ioan Stephens, Taylor Page and Jamie Allen were on target for Athletic, who led four times in the 90 minutes and again in the added half hour only to be pegged back on each occasion.

REM Jones Cup round two action saw Meliden overcome Point of Ayr 4-3 on spot-kicks following a 4-4 scoreline after extra time.

Julian Watson and Shane Thomas both bagged braces in St Asaph's 7-1 blitzing of Mostyn Dragons, Dewi Jones, Matthew Quinny and Dave Winters sharing the goals.

In round two of the Halkyn Cup, Martin King claimed a hat-trick in Rhuddlan Town Reserves' 7-2 hammering of Connah's Quay Tigers. Sam Berry (2), Gareth Walsh and Paul Clayton also scored.
