A WOMAN is taking part in the London Marathon, raising cash for the charity which is helping her sister.

Susan Calvert, 51, a member of Abergele Harriers running club, will tackle the 26-mile course on April 25 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support after her sister Linda, 49, was diagnosed with cancer.

Susan said: “It is always devastating news to hear of a loved one being diagnosed with cancer. Linda has two grown-up children and five grandchildren and Macmillan has been great from the outset.

“They have been helpful in assisting Linda’s move to nearer the treatment hospital and funding a much-needed bed.

“You don’t realise just what caring people are about until it’s you that needs the help.

“It is the dedication and caring nature of Macmillan which inspired me to try and put something back, and my way of doing this is by running the London Marathon.”

To sponsor Susan call her on 01492 518421 or ring Macmillan Cancer Support on 0808 808 00.
