A MAN has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death.
Oliver Taylor, aged 19 , of Berllan Avenue, Rhuddlan, is charged with the murder of Anthony Finbar Burke, with a kitchen knife.
Mr Burke, 20, died in hospital after he suffered a knife wound near his home inRhuddlan.
Taylor spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared at a preliminary hearing which lasted less than a minute at Mold Crown court on Wednesday.
Judge John Rogers QC remanded him in custody to appear until February 26.
The charge follows an incident near Mr Burke’s home on Clos y Berllan at about 10pm on Wednesday, where he was allegedly stabbed. He died later in hospital.
More than 2,500 people have left messages on the social network site Facebook where a memorial page has been set up.
Friends of Mr Burke have used the web page to convey their emotions, share memories of their friend and post tributes him.
Robert Davies, wrote: “Rest in Peace. Can’t imagine the pain the family are feeling thoughts with you all.”
He added that he was “proud” to have known Anthony, and “a good guy is now in heaven when he should be here”.
Jordan Hughes added: “You are a star Anthony.. a great lad.”
Another tribute was paid by Jade Louise Roberts, who described Anthony as “such an amazing friend” who always had “that big smile” on his face.
Anthony Eskins described Anthony as a “true gentleman and top footy player” and Charlene Irvine paid tribute to “a genuine lad” who was “fun, pleasant and always cheery”.
The news has shocked villagers. Rhuddlan’s Corrine Pownall wrote: “This village has had some ups and downs but this is the biggest loss by far”.
And Allyson Jones said: “Rhuddlan has never been so white with snow in many many years, but over it hangs a huge black cloud now you’re gone. You'll never be forgotten.”
