A ST ASAPH schoolgirl has been named as a regional finalist in the national competition - Doodle 4 Google.
Cerys Lloyd, 13, a pupil at Ysgol Glan Clwyd, entered the competition organised by Google - the most widely used search engine for the world wide web.
Each year Google ask young people aged five to 16 from across the UK to design their own doodle - a logo design for their homepage.
This year's theme was My Hero.
Cerys said: “I have chosen my mum as my hero because I love her very much," said Cerys.
"She cares about the environment where she recycles and always aware how much energy we use.
"She loves to garden and looks after flowers and plants.
"I am sure there are many children in my situation that think that one or both of their parents are heroes.”
