MORE than 450 Father Christmases laced up their running shoes on Sunday for the annual Ty Gobaith Santa Fun Run.
The early morning rain gave way to bright spells with a few showers later on, but not enough to dampen the spirits of so many Santas who threw themselves in to the early morning warm-up exercises organised by Kate Howell.
Sarah Kearsley-Wooller, Ty Gobaith Fundraising Manager, was thrilled so many people entered into the Christmas spirit to raise money for the local charity.
She said: "Last year the event raised more than £45,000 and we are hopeful, that, thanks to our sponsors, Clogau Gold and to the tremendous generosity of so many supporters, this year we will exceed that.
"May we take this opportunity to thank all the supporters who either joined the route to cheer all the Santas, sponsored participants in their fundraising efforts or donned their red suits and participated in the event and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
"Each year we need to raise more than £1m to provide our special care for local terminally-ill youngsters - with your generous help we can continue to make the most of short and precious lives."
