Fireworks cancelled for Christmas

FIREWORKS planned as a finale to the Llandudno Christmas Parade have been cancelled due to poor weather.

A spokeswoman for Llandudno Town Council confirmed the decision was made after rain and strong winds were forecast, but the parade will still be going ahead.

The fireworks were added to the Christmas parade plans after poor weather resulted in the Bonfire Night celebrations being called off.

It is not believed the fireworks will be used at all this year. Instead they will be put into storage for next year's November 5 display.

  • Llandudno Christmas Parade will be starting at 4pm on Saturday, December 5.

I am appalled that the Council are worming their way out of the debate over the fireworks by blaming allegedly forecast rain and strong winds!?! Whilst I appreciate that it will cost the same to store the fireworks as it will to buy a whole new set for next year but feel that the town, particularly the children, deserve to have an annual fireworks display. If the same situation regarding the weather were to occur next year, does this mean we will be deprived again?
