A KINMEL-Bay mum was horrified to come across a completely false book that has been put together about her 13-year-old musician daughter.

Ceri Ann Pritchard, who has daughter Ella-Grace Pritchard, stumbled across the bizarre find on Fruugo - a global marketplace, when putting Ella-Grace's name into Google. The mum was trying to help add article links on Ella Grace's TikTok, Instagram profiles and verified Spotify.

The fake read - a rip off of original book by author Sharon Marie Jones Grace-Ella: Spells for Beginners - is priced at £2,995.

The jumbled description for the book merges real-life newspaper reports about Ella-Grace and a young schoolgirl called Ella-Grace Holman from Warrington who died after being rushed to hospital with suspected heat stroke.

The book appears to have been put together via AI - parts of it reads: "Grace-Ella is thrilled when Mr Whiskins arrives. She’s always wanted a pet. But Mr Whiskins has a secret. On the ninth day of the ninth month of her ninth year, he tells her: Grace-Ella is a witch! Kirstly [sic] told the Liverpool Echo: "She pulled through and came around and doctors said if she carried on this way they could restart chemotherapy." According to the NHS, the symptoms of a brain tumour vary depending on the exact part of the brain affected."

Another part states: "Ella-Grace Pritchard, 13, has been asked to perform at the Cavern Club in Liverpool. She will sing three songs and help raise money towards Prevention of Suicides The Samaritans (Liverpool branch). According to her cousin  Kirsty Eltringham, she needed extra surgery due to fluid build-up on her brain."

Ceri was unsuccessful when trying to report the book to North Wales Police.

She has reported the book to original author Sharon who has passed the information on to her publishers.

Sadly the fake book has also appeared on other websites.

Ceri said: "The book is all false and it covers sensitive subjects. It talks about my cousin passing, but false information, and my full name is in the book. It is a book about Ella-Grace dying of cancer so it is pretty sick. They have mixed two news reports up and there are so many errors and they've put it in a book without getting permission to do so.

Ceri's daughter Ella-Grace attends the Hammond School in Chester. Last year, the Journal reported that Ella-Grace was performing at Cavern Club in Liverpool - this is mentioned in the fake book.

Ceri said: "When the book came up, we were horrified. At first Ella-Grace was like 'oh they have made a story up about me singing in the Cavern'. When we read on to the part where she dies of a brain tumour, it made us feel sick. I had a few people sending me messages after I found it because I wrote a status on Facebook and a lot of people said it looks like they have used an app to create this story but stole an actual book cover of another author and stole parts of her work also.

"The story makes not much sense at all but, because of the concept behind it, I really want it taken down asap. The original author from the children’s book replied to me and said her publishers are looking into it so hopefully they will be able to do something.

"I don’t like the fact AI allows you to use other people's work and it is encouraging people to steal other people's hard work.

"In this case they have stolen articles from journalists, they have used the name of the author and some her work and also named a minor and myself without consent. To mention my late cousin as well is just terrible as it’s still very raw. People shouldn’t be able to get away with it."

Ceri has tried to contact Citizens Advice but has had no response as yet.

The Journal has contacted Fruugo.
