A WOMAN from Prestatyn has returned to prison after committing a 14th breach of her criminal behaviour order (CBO).

Samantha Phythian, 33, of Victoria Avenue, was sentenced to 24 weeks’ imprisonment at Caernarfon Crown Court today (April 18).

She had previously admitted breaching the CBO.

Rhyl woman issued a two year Criminal Behaviour Order

Prosecuting, Laura Knightly told the court that the two-year CBO was issued to Phythian on May 12, 2022, the terms of which prohibited her from entering an address on High Street, Holywell.

But at about 1.45am on March 26, police were asked to attend the address in question after receiving a phone call where a man and woman could be heard arguing.

Officers attended, and arrested Phythian after finding her hiding in the bathroom of the property.

Defending Phythian, who had 23 previous convictions for 36 offences, Ryan Rothwell said the mother-of-four is “completely stuck” in the cycle she has found herself in.

Phythian, he added, suffers from significant mental health issues and alcohol dependence.

Some of her previous breaches of the CBO have also involved attending the same address in Holywell, Mr Rothwell added.

Sentencing, Judge Timothy Petts told Phythian: “The fact you’ve breached this order 14 times in less than two years is not good.

“Please take the help and support you’re offered. We don’t want a perpetual cycle of you being in trouble, coming out, getting into trouble, and going back into prison. It’s not good for you.

“You need some stability in your life.”
