A SPORTS bar and nightclub in Towyn which re-opened last April is under new management.

Bentley’s Sports Bar and Nightclub, on Towyn Road, is to be run by Stephen Jones, formerly of Lola’s Bar in Prestatyn, which closed for good earlier this year.

He is known both as a DJ and as a drag artist, the latter under the name “Steph”.

It is located above Sunny’s Bar, which, along with Bentley’s, had its premises licence suspended for three months in December following multiple incidents reported by North Wales Police.

A statement from Bentley’s read: “We are delighted to announce we are working with Stephen jones.

“Steve has many years’ experience running venues both locally and abroad, and will be helping us achieve all of our aims for 2024 as we begin our second year in Towyn.

“Lots of you will already know Steve from Lola’s Bar in Prestatyn and his outrageous alter ego ‘Steph’. You can expect Steph to make an appearance pretty soon.

“You will start to see changes over the coming weeks as Steve gets his feet under the table. We welcome all feedback, so please send us a message with your suggestions.

“While holidaymakers are very welcome and very important to most entertainment businesses in North Wales, we would be nowhere and nothing without our locals.”

Bentley’s includes state-of-the-art sound and lighting, VIP booths, a dancefloor, 30 televisions, and pool tables.

Having been a popular hotspot in the 1990s (originally called “Mirrors”), it returned last year under the ownership of the One47 Group.
