A VEGAN bistro in Rhuddlan has been named the best in Wales at an awards ceremony recognising the best restaurants in the country.
Green Island Bistro, at High Street, won the 'Best Vegetarian Restaurant' category at the Welsh Restaurant Awards presented by Oceanic Events.
Owner Sara Turner thanked loyal customers and her members of staff for another successful year, as the popular eatery followed up its wins from earlier this year.

This summer, the bistro won Café / Bistro of the Year Overall Winner at the Food Awards Wales in Cardiff and defended its title of best café/bistro in North Wales.
Ms Turner told the Journal: "I never expected to win this award, especially with all the other amazing vegetarian and vegan restaurants nominated alongside us.
"But thanks to our supportive customers and amazing team we have - another great achievement for us to be proud of."
