RHYL Music Club’s final concert before the Christmas break will feature international pianist, Richard Ormrod.

Richard has been performing in south east Asia this month, and will bring the same programme of music to Rhyl Town Hall on Wednesday, December 6.

Tickets cost £15, and can be purchased on the door from 6.45pm that night (concert from 7.30pm to 9.15pm).

What to look forward to from Rhyl Music Club in 2023-24

The first half of Richard’s performance will feature works by three "baroque" composers; Bach, Scarlatti and Rameau.

Scarlatti wrote more than 500 short "sonatas", each about three to five minutes long.

Rameau composed a greater variety of music, such as opera and ballet, but Rhyl will hear one of his harpsichord suites - although played on a modern piano.

The second half focuses on the work of Schubert, whose music is from the same era as Beethoven at a time when social and political upheaval in Europe was in full swing.
