MORE than 200 individually crocheted and knitted poppies grace a shop window, thanks to kind customers.
Alison McMillan, who owns Rosie’s in Rhuddlan, received a mountain of poppies after encouraging the community to pick up their knitting needles.
The carefully-crafted creations are being sold to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
Alison said: “When I started the appeal, I thought I could get about 100.
“When I last counted them, we were at about 244. I spoke to the Legion first then appealed for anyone who could knit or crochet poppies at the own expense.
“Each poppy is very individual. There are quite a lot of patterns out there to follow.
“It’s nice to see all the different interpretations and different shapes.
“The community really has pulled together. I started the appeal around August/September so I am overwhelmed with the response it has had.”
The poppies are available for purchase at Rosie’s until Saturday. Suggested donation is £1.
