GCSE: Rhyl High School pupils make headteacher proud with exam results

RHYL High School students are celebrating after their GCSE results.

A number of pupils gained exceptional results as 96 per cent of exam takers achieved five or more higher grade GCSEs.

Headteacher Claire Armitstead said: "It’s been another exceptional year at Rhyl High School where are children have exceeded again all our expectations.

"Our children, our amazing, exceptional, wonderful children have achieved 96 per cent five or more higher grade GCSE’s and I’m so proud of them.

"I’d like to say a huge thank you to all our students, governors, staff and parents for all their hard work in achieving these fantastic result – I can’t wait to see just what we can do next."

Exceptional performances include Georgia Cruse who achieved 5A, 5B and 1C grade as well as the Welsh Baccalaureate and Phoebe Evans who gained 3A*, 8A, 1B and the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Scarlett Hancock achieved 3A*, 5A, 4B grades and an NVQ is Spanish while Karl Parsons gained 1A*, 5A, 4B, 2C grades and the Welsh Baccalaureate.
