GCSE: Emrys ap Iwan enjoys record-breaking exam results

YSGOL Emrys ap Iwan is celebrating its best-ever GCSE results.

A total of 86 per cent of students achieved 5 A*-C grades, an increase of 8 per cent from last year with all pupils achieving five or more GCSEs.

Lee Cummins, headteacher, said ‘ This is fantastic news for all the learners and everyone associated with the school.

"This is the best set of results on every indicator and a huge success.

"Learners of all abilities have achieved the results they deserve, through hard work and commitment. I would like to thank the staff and parents for their hard work in ensuring that the learners are able to move on to the next stage of their learning confidently.

"The percentage of learners achieving the top grades has also been outstanding."

Outstanding achievers, who all achieved eight A*-A or equivalent at GCSE, include, Rina Ahmed, Joel Cunnah, Hannah Mainon, Isabella McQuillan, Emily Pearson, Maisie Pepper, Lewis Rich and Darci Tyler.
