Five people taken to hospital after house fire in Abergele

FIVE people have been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a house in Abergele.

The fire, which is now under control, happened at a terrace house at Ffordd Y Morfa.

 North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a report of a fire at 11.02am. Crews and  four fire engines attended the blaze.

A man in his 40s, two women in their 40s, a nine-year-old-girl and a 14-year-old girl have been taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital as a precaution. 

This morning, there were reports of an "explosion" at the property with some witnesses commented that they could see smoke coming from the roof.

A North Wales Fire and Rescue service person said: "The fire was put under control at 1.13pm. It was a terrace property.

"We have four appliances there and an aerial ladder platform from Rhyl.

"An ambulance is in attendance."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 11.02am today (Wednesday) to reports of a fire at a property on Ffordd y Morfa in Abergele.

"Crews in two emergency ambulances responded, and five people including a man in his 40s, two women in their 40s, a nine-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd as a precaution.”
