Street advertising being installed in Rhyl

RHYL'S programme of summer events is set for a boost thanks to an innovative advertising approach.

Denbighshire Council has installed a number of pavement vinyls in a bid to grab visitor's attention in addition to the more traditional flyers and posters.

They have been placed along the promenade and in the High Street to help promote Rhyl Air Show, Proms on the Prom and G?yl Ger Y Môr, a festival of Welsh Culture.

A Denbighshire Council spokesman said: "They are placed and removed without any mess or leaving behind any residue.

"The adverts promoting the events are waterproof, non-slip and are designed to be placed in high footfall areas.

"This new and innovative approach to promoting events by Denbighshire County Council will see an increase in public awareness of the events this summer and encourage them to come along and see what else is on offer in Rhyl.

The vinyls are brightly coloured and large enough that they will be noticed at key points along the promenade and high street but not intrusive.

"The idea is to encourage the public to take pictures of the vinyls and post on their social media pages to encourage more people to come to Rhyl and to attend the events promoted."
